DJ Fresh sacked from his radio job

After three weeks of suspension for using foul language on air, Metro FM breakfast show presenter Thato Sikwane popularly known as DJ Fresh, the SABC has released a statement detailing the termination of contract of the presenter.

On the statement released, the SABC explains that they have decided to release the DJ from his employment following futile engagements and the DJ’s conduct in bringing the public broadcaster into disrepute.

“Mr Sikwane was afforded an opportunity to remedy his contractual breaches, which he failed and/or refused to do. This conduct resulted in the irretrievable breakdown of the trust relation between the SABC and himself,” the statement reads.

This follows a complaint lodged by one of the listeners to the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa (BCCSA) declaring that the presenter used a swear word live on air in response to a listener.
