Water Disruptions Around Johannesburg

Daily water supply system status updates: Thursday, 10 October 2019 (Morning)

Water supply status update by exception (i.e. areas affected due to supply constraint and not service interruption from occasional pipe burst): supply across the City of Johannesburg is normal, with reservoir levels across the city in a satisfactory position.

Unplanned interruptions

Please note that we are having consistent low levels in the E Rand Reservoir due to high demand and have considered closing the reservoir to prevent it running empty.. Residents of Vorna Valley, Noordwyk, All Kyalami areas, Glenferness, Waterfall, Carlswald, Kyalami Hills, BBQ Downs are urged to use water sparingly.

Reason: Upgrade by installation of new pipe, valves and hydrants

Impact: No water

Reason: Decommissioning the old water pipes into new installed pipes of system

  1. Suburb affected: Noordwyk Ext 14, 66, 72, 93, 98

Impact: No water

Reason: commissioning of water services
