Reaching greater heights through Cycling

Benedict Moqumo 20 year old from Pimville Soweto willleaving for Switzerland on Friday for his cycling career and he will be competing with other cyclists from all over the world. The 20 year old who will representing South Africa abroad and he is also a qualified Electrical Engineer but his passion lies in cycling. 

Benedict started cycling from grade seven and he has participated in the African Track Champion sport. The 20 year old was mentored by Oupa Maluleke who assisted him breaking through the cycling career and it was through him when he became a professional cycler.

“Oupa Maluleke helped me take my cycling career further and it was through him that I managed to get my foot at the door of professional cycling. As time went on, I met some of the prominent cyclists who are currently contributing in my career,” Moqumo said.

Benedict his part of the Van Wyk’s Electrical Track Academy(VWE) which has contributed into his cycling career. Through VWE he was supported with equipment and he was able to travel across South Africa through his passion for cycling. Community members are excited about Benedict’s success and the 20 year old will be representing the youth of Soweto, and people are hoping he will bring the championship back home.
