Local DJ seeking a breakthrough in the entertainment industry

Sehopotso Hlahatsi is an inspiration of how one must never sleep on their dreams no matter how tough the going gets.

Born and bred in Sebokeng, Hlahatsi is employed as a packer and stock counter at Kea Motors.

In his spare time he perfects his Djying skills and performs at local clubs.

DJ Stress P is his stage name which was inspired by people dancing to the tune of his music and creative skills.

Hlahatsi started his career in 2013 where he was taught the skills by a very humble man Siya who worked in a pub in Germiston.

What inspired the local DJ was his love for music and sound.

“I always loved music. At home they sometimes hosted parties and that is when my love for spinning discs began,” he said.

“I love music, music is a passion of mine ”expressed Hlahatsi.

DJ Stress P started getting recognition when him and his best friend MJ started djying in local clubs in Germiston.

Hlahatsi and other local DJ’s started doing live performances in well-known clubs in Eastrand such as Club 88,Chiras.

“We sometimes get bookings to perform at bashes,”he added.

Besides his passion for music,Hlahatsi is also well-known for having a taste for fashion, inspired by the “Izikhothane” trend.

Hlahatsi told Gauteng News that also want to become DJ’S mustnever give up on their dreams and work hard.

“As a DJ you start from humble beginnings and you make it big,”he said.

The 24- year old draws inspiration from the likes of the famous names such as Black Coffee and Shimza.

“I also see myself being one of the worlds famous DJ and working with the likes of DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small,” said Hlahatsi.
