Soshanguve teacher fired for assaulting Grade R pipul

A teacher has been dismissed at Nchuncheko Primary School in Soshanguve for assaulting a defenceless Grade R child on Tuesday. The dismissal comes after the teacherwas seen on social media assaulting the pupil on Monday. 

The Gauteng Department of Education has welcomed the decision after parents and community leaders, and demonstrations outside the school. The department Spokesman, Steve Mabona confirmed the dismissal of the teacher. 

“We can confirm that the disciplinary process which was instituted upon finding out about the video took place on Monday 24 May 2021 and has been concluded with the verdict being the immediate dismissal of the Grade R practitioner,”  

Mabona indicated that the department is in a completely behind the school’s choice to fire the teacher.

“As the GDE in a fully behind the school’s decision to dismiss the practitioner as this sends a strong message to everyone who is in our education sector working very closely with learners to make sure that they don’t abuse or inflict anyway violent to our children because discipline is not assaulting anyone in our environment.”
