African Nation Congress (ANC) caucus in Tshwane says it cannot be held accountable expenditure in the city. Tshwane was among municipalities that failed to get clean audit by the Auditor General.
The ANC says Democratic Alliance (DA) and Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) coalition is to blame for the wrongdoings.
Auditor General Report found that Tshwane Municipality irregularly spent 5 billion rands. Therefore the ANC is calling for probe into the matter and it says the DA and the EFF in the council must be held to account.
The ANC is reiterating calls for the Tshwane City Manager to step down voluntarily or face a motion of no confidence following the Auditor General audit.
ANC Regional Chairperson Kgosi Maepa says the DA and EFF coalition should take responsibility for the damaged caused in the city.
Maepa says the reason EFF leader Julius Malema says he won’t be voting with the DA again, it is because the 3 metros in which the EFF voted for the DA were found to be the highest in irregular expenditure.
“They are distancing themselves from their crisis,” said Maepa.
Maepa said that both the DA and EFF should come out in public and says they have damaged Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, City of Tshwane and City of Johannesburg.
