Tshwane Hosts 5th EPWP Lottery and Warns Against Scams

The City of Tshwane has successfully held its 5th Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) Lottery Session, selecting 1,000 residents for short-term job opportunities across all wards. The automated lottery system ensures a fair and transparent process, overseen by ICT, Internal Audit and HR to prevent any manipulation.

MMC for Community & Social Development Services, Cllr Palesa Modise, reaffirmed the City’s commitment to supporting unemployed youth, women and persons with disabilities through credible recruitment. Selected participants will receive official notifications on contract signing and administration steps.

The City also issued a strong warning about fraudulent messages demanding money for EPWP placement. All EPWP opportunities are free, and genuine announcements appear only on verified City platforms. Residents are urged to stay vigilant and report scams.
