City of Tshwane EPWP registration remains open for job seekers

The Department of Community and Social Development reminds interested Tshwane residents that applications for the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) remains open.

EPWP job seekers are encouraged to submit their documents at anytime as there is no closing date for placement on the EPWP database.

MMC for Community and Social Development Services, Councillor Thabisile Vilakazi said, “Registration forms are currently available at Ou Raadsaal Building office G03, EPWP Unit.”

She notified interested individuals that registration is open Monday to Friday at 8am to 4pm and the programme requires one to be between the ages of 18 to 60.

“Interested parties looking for short-term work opportunities are urged to take note of the current recruitment process,” said the Vilakazi.

Vilakazi noted that the candidate’s application will be added to the database of other EPWP potential recruits. “Whenever the city has EPWP work opportunities, they will be selected from the database,” added Vilakazi.

She stated that the city has currently 140 000 registered EPWP job seekers and when there is an opportunity, they select randomly in a form of a lottery system among that large number. “It is important to note that the city has limited EPWP opportunities each year,” she added.
