The four-day unprotected strike in the City of Tshwane is now over.
The city and municipal unions Samwu and Matu have finally reached an agreement. The details of the agreement are not yet clear.
Disgruntled workers embarked on the strike on Monday, demanding an 18 percent increase.
They blocked roads and scattered rubbish on the streets, causing major disruptions.
The city had admitted to bending the rules when it approved an 18-percent salary hike for some of its senior staff.
Samwu argued its members deserved the same wage hike.
