Creatives Media founder Morapeli Phokojoe (25) is planning to offer short acting courses, for talents who cannot afford drama and film courses at tertiary level.
Johannesburg based Phokojoe founded Creatives Media in 2019 after passion drove him into the arts industry. He is originally from Botshabelo, Free State. He moved to Johannesburg in 2015.
“I came to the city of gold to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Johannesburg. However, my passion for arts kept burning and I started in theatre as an actor. Then considered to do film and television professionally. I would skip classes at university in order to attend castings and shootings. I love arts but in my province of origin it is not considered a career. Even though I attended a technical high school and later pursued mechanical engineering trade, I want to make arts accessible for youth and go as far as in Free State”, he added.
He told Gauteng News they also conduct acting workshops and want to grow Creatives Media globally.
“During workshops we invite famous faces in tv and acting industry. They come to teach, inspire and motivate attendees. Creative Media has also started producing its own films and we are busy with feature film called Happiness Is a 4-Letter Word. People can get in touch with us on Facebook: Creatives Media, twitter: Creatives. Media_ andInstagram: Creatives Media_sa”, said Phokojoe.
Phokojoe said he has been in the industry for over 6 years as a personal brand, actor and through Creatives Media.
“I am working with SABC, Mzansi Magic, Showmax, Netflix and soon HBO. We are working on SABC shows such as Daily Thetha, One Mic, Generations The Legacy and 7 De Laan. I am planning to return on screens as a personal brand and continue acting. I played supporting roles on Ring of Lies season 2 on Mzansi Magic and Z’bondiwe Season Finale on ETV”, he said.
