eMtee Records Issues Apology After Pretoria Performance Falls Short

Pretoria – eMtee Records has issued a formal public apology following the rapper’s recent performance in Pretoria that left some fans disappointed, citing artist fatigue caused by an exceptionally demanding performance schedule.

In a press statement released on 18 December 2025, the record label acknowledged that eMtee’s show in Pretoria on 16 December, Reconciliation Day, did not meet the high-energy standards fans have come to expect from the award-winning artist.

According to the label, the performance followed an intense summer tour that saw eMtee performing at multiple venues across the country, including five separate shows in one day. The demanding pace, while driven by the artist’s commitment to connecting with fans, ultimately took its toll.

“Fatigue impacted his ability to deliver the high-energy show our fans expect,” the statement read. “We acknowledge the disappointment this caused and sincerely apologise to our loyal supporters.”

eMtee Records emphasized that both the artist and the label take full responsibility for the situation and are committed to restoring trust with fans in Pretoria. The label confirmed that discussions are already underway with event organisers to arrange a follow-up performance to ensure fans receive the experience they deserve.

The label further highlighted its commitment to balancing commercial success with artist well-being, noting that sustainable performance schedules are essential to maintaining quality and longevity in the music industry.

“At eMtee Records, we prioritise the well-being of our artists while ensuring fan satisfaction,” the statement concluded.

The apology has sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans expressing frustration, while others have voiced support for the artist’s honesty and transparency. Many have welcomed the promise of a return performance, calling for healthier touring practices within the local music industry.

Gauteng News will continue to monitor developments regarding the proposed follow-up show.
