Floods affecting Gauteng residents

Most parts of South Africa were severely affected by the heavy rains throughout the week, Gauteng and Mpumalanga were the most affected areas. Recently in Centurion people were rescued by the ER24 and the paramedics as well. 

Tshwane emergency confirmed that 30 people were left stranded and helpless after the heavy floods that have been occurring lately in Centurion and Pretoria East. 

According to the City of Tshwane, 150 people were rescued after being trapped in Mamelodi by floods on Monday. The displaced residents are being housed at a community hall in the area.

However, the EMS is currently observing high risk areas such as Klip Valley in Soweto, East Pretoria and Alexandra just to name a few. Community members are warned to be cautious on the road during rainy seasons and people who are living in areas that are prone to floods are advised to move to a safer place.
