Hollywoodbets Announces 2025 Super League Awards Nominees

The nominees for the 2025 Hollywoodbets Super League Awards have officially been announced, shining a spotlight on the outstanding talent, dedication and growth of women’s football in South Africa .

The awards recognise excellence across the league, honouring players, coaches and match officials who stood out during a highly competitive season. The 2025 campaign delivered thrilling football and historic moments, with Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies once again asserting their dominance by clinching the Super League title in emphatic fashion.

This year’s list of nominees reflects the rapid development of the women’s game, highlighting not only individual brilliance on the pitch but also the increasing professionalism, resilience and ambition of clubs across the country.

Among the standout categories, Leandra Smeda of TS Galaxy Queens has been nominated for both Top Goal Scorer and Player of the Season after an impressive 22-goal haul. Rising stars such as Bonolo Mokoma (JVW FC) and Okuhle Sithole (Durban Ladies) have also earned nominations, underlining the importance of youth development in the league.

Hollywoodbets Senior Sponsorship Coordinator Menzi Ngcobo said the league continues to evolve into a more structured and sustainable competition, where strong club models, commercial partnerships and youth development are becoming just as important as on-field results.

SAFA Chief Executive Officer Lydia Monyepao praised the progress of the league, noting that while Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies retained their title, the competitive gap between teams is steadily closing — a clear sign of growth in women’s football.

The winners of the 2025 Hollywoodbets Super League Awards will be announced at a prestigious ceremony to be held at the Vodacom Dome on 1 February 2026 at 20:00. The event will be broadcast live on SABC 1, with the purple carpet coverage starting at 19:30. Fans can also follow the awards on SABC+, SABC Sport social media platforms and the SABC Sport Channel.

The awards ceremony marks another milestone in the continued rise of women’s football in South Africa, reinforcing Hollywoodbets’ long-term commitment to supporting and uplifting women’s sport.
