Despite the dismissal of Lawrence Mrwebi and Nomgcobo Jiba early this year by President Cyril Ramaphosa, General Council of Bar (GCB) failed to remove their names on Advocates Roll.
They were fired because according to commission led by retired Constitutional Court Judge Yvonne Mokgoro, found them dishonest and could no longer be trusted to continue with their duties.
According to eNCA GCB also submitted their application to High Court in Pretoria to have Mrwebi and Jiba removed from the roll.
The judge was convinced that the two were not fit and proper to be advocates. It was due to relation to controversial cases, which they headed over.
The two advocates took the matter to the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA). The court said Jiba should remain an advocate while Mrwebi would be suspended for six months.
The Constitutional Court set aside costs made against GCB and dismissed the case, after there was no evidence to remove names form the roll of the mentioned advocates.
