MEC Lesufi shuts down bogus schools

Gauteng Department of Education and Youth Development MEC Panyaza Lesufi has shut town 20 bogus schools on Monday in Ivory Park Ekurhuleni.

Lesufi said amongst bogus schools, Star Combined, four Comprehensives and Our Legacy Combined had more than 400 learners.

“The department has commenced an audit with the aim of accommodating all affected learners on the neighboring schools. I want to protect the future of these children. They must all be accommodated in public schools”, he said.

Lesufi encouraged parents to cooperate and warned them to stop registering their children at unregistered learning institutions.
