MEC Mamabolo to preside over donations at Attredgeville taxi rank

Gauteng MEC for Public Transport and Roads Infrastructure Jacob Mamabolo will tomorrow, Tuesday, visit Phomolong taxi rank as part of Gauteng government’s continuous monitoring of adherence to preventive measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 in public transport.

Mamabolo, in his capacity as Acting MEC for Health, will also conduct support visits at Kalafong Hospital and preside over personal Protective Equipment (PPE) donations by Mediclinic.

These PPE donations will play an important role to strengthen the fight against the covid-19 pandemic.

The fight against Coronavirus requires a joint effort by all sectors of society and this includes constant increasing of the resource capacity for Gauteng health facilities.

These visits also serve to strengthen and further enhance interventions where weaknesses are identified.

The visit forms part of the Gauteng Provincial Government’s efforts to ensure that all facilities continue to comply with COVID-19 regulations.

These include ensuring that all facilities are deep cleaned, operators and commuters hands sanitized while all vehicles are disinfected before ferrying passengers.
