Multi-award winning artist Ntokozo Mbambo has teamed up with Telkom to deliver an Easter Sunday praise and worship online service. The partnership will see Mbambo deliver a praise and worship performance from her home. This special performance will be streamed live on Telkom Plus .
Since everyone is expected to maintain social distancing during the Easter holiday as the country is under lockdown to curb the spread of Coronavirus, its not all doom and gloom for worshippers.
Mbambo is one of the most loved gospel acts in the country. Her music style and sound is one that speaks to an individual. Reaching across generations, her fresh sounds invoke both praise and worship from the depths of the soul.
Mbambo told Gauteng News she would be looking forward to the experience.
“Telkom is a platform that connects people to each other. On Sunday, the two of us will be connecting people to God”, she said.
Mbambo has built her name as a vocalist for acclaimed gospel group Joyous Celebration and has since gone on to have an illustrious solo career. Her recent song “Jehovah is your Name” gaining almost over 25 million hits on YouTube.
In June 2019 she walked away with the 2018’s Artiste OfExcellence Southern Africa and Female Artiste Of Excellence at the African Gospel Music and Media Awards in London.
Wanda Mkhize, Executive for Content & VS Gaming at Telkom said the gospel icon‘s partnership with Telkom will connect people deeply to their faith.
“Easter Holidays are a special period for many South Africans. This is the time where churchgoers gather and worship. Due to social gatherings being banned including annual spiritual Easter activities, as per the national lockdown, Easter won’t be the same this year.
“We want to ensure that our customers are still able to worship in the comfort of their homes during this time,” concluded Mkhize.
