Police arrest a randomly shooter

Police have recently arrested a 45 years old man for unlawful possession of fire-arm and ammunition, which he used to shoot randomly at Noordgesig in Soweto.

Orlando East police spokesperson Constable Monica Hangwane said police were patrolling when they came across a woman who informed them about a drunk man, who was randomly shooting.

“They asked the complaint to take them to the address where the suspect was. Upon their arrival, they requested permission to search the suspect. They found a 9mm pistol with seven live rounds and five empty carriages. When asked about why he was shooting, the suspect said he randomly shot because of stress”, Hangwane added.

She said the suspect will soon appear at Orlando Magistrate court with charges of unlawful possession of a fire-arm.

In a different case, a 27 year old male has been arrested for house break-in at Marula street, in Noordgesig Soweto.

“According to the complaint, he was sleeping with his wife when he heard a knock at the door. He woke his wife then went to check what was going on. He found the kitchen window broken and a man standing next to it, asking them to open for him. The complaint called the police and a suspect was found hiding inside PikitUp dustbin”, said Hangwane.

She added that the suspect will also appear at Orlando Magistrate court soon.
