Powerhouse: Laven Pillay

Customer Experience Executive, Laven Pillay and his HOMii Lifestyle team launch brand new tech-driven, lifestyle apartments in downtown Johannesburg. The recently launched Fox Street establishment is HOMii Lifestyle’s second Johannesburg phase of trendy, furnished, serviced and highly secure apartments, other than HOMii’s presence in Durban, they are set to take over Africa with plans of having a global footprint in the near future. Established in 2017, HOMii Lifestyle is disrupting the South African property rental market by leveraging technology, a deep commitment to the community and creating aspirational, lifestyle-centric living spaces while allowing ease of availability to all.

With co-working spaces rising in popularity around the world, they were inspired to duplicate a similar model, but for living spaces. “There are many proven benefits of co-working and co-living spaces, and with the increasing demand to live, work and play within proximity, our HOMii property has been engineered with consideration by providing a perfect balance of work and play in the inner cities. Our new building births an eco-system of trendy, furnished, serviced co-living rooms, private apartments, daily suites, co-working, wellness and lifestyle spaces all stitched together with hotel-type amenities and events. This collectively exists in a building that boasts free Wi-Fi and the ability for one to be mesmerised watching the city’s sunset on the rooftop entertainment area.

The co-living dynamic invites collaboration with other like-minded aspirational individuals, affording the opportunity to evolve and succeed together.” said Pillay.

HOMii already has more than 3000 guests nationally and is set to expand its footprint to 21 apartment blocks (with a string of planned launch events hosted by Queen B – Bonang Matheba) across the country over the next year and continue to create numerous employment opportunities. HOMii Lifestyle currently employs over 120 individuals. “Essentially, we want HOMii Lifestyle’s apartments to be at the core of the urban co-living lifestyle experience, where people can live together in the heart of the city with both style and safety, while sharing great ideas and having fun,” added Pillay.
