Shumani training & HR Solution in partnership with Wholesale and Retail SETA(W&R SETA) have come out to offer training for small business owners in the Rand West City local municipality on Wednesday, 8 September 2021.
The community members came out in their numbers to attend this programme. Shumani Training & HR Solutions Director, Faith Mugada said they brought this programme as a way to offer training to the residents on ways to manage and grow their businesses.
W&RSETA Provincial Manager Gauteng South Region JephreyNene, which is one of the main founders of the programme, said that their main aim is to support small businesses with financial support as well as non-financial support. “In order for theeconomy of our country to grow, we need to focus on supporting small businesses and make sure that we deal with township economic growth before we can even go far,” said Nene.
Nene said they will be providing people who attended the training programme with money to grow their business.
“We are going to give R3000 vouchers to 80 of the beneficiaries of the programme,” said Nene
One of the people who were part of the training programme, Sifiso Ngcobo said he was very happy to be part of this programme as he has learnt a lot of things from it. “I have learnthow to operate my business and make it grow, Covid-19 has really affected my business and I am hoping that with everything I got from this programme I will get ways to revive it,” said Ngcobo.
Lungiswa Phokwane who says she sews clothes said that since Covid-19 came into the country it has affected her business. “Covid-19 forced me to close down my business as I did not have many to buy more materials during the hard lockdown,” said Phokwane.
She added that with the help and all the information she will receive from this programme she will build buy more material. “I will hear more people to help me and also train the youth,” she said.
Some of the stakeholders who attended the event are Tyme Bank, SARS, SEDA, NYDA and Innovation hub.
