Orange Grove residents in Johannesburg were shocked to find coffins hidden in the house over the weekend.
A group of residents raided a house that they suspected to be of drug dealers. One of the residents Nano Nobesule said the community know houses that do drug dealing.
“When arriving at the gate of the house, people that were inside did not want to open doors. We forced ourselves inside and sensed a bad smell. Then we found a lot of coffins, and some were with tissues containing blood stains. Some coffins looked new while others had already been used and some had soil inside”, he said.

Nobesule added that the coffins were taken outside of the house by residents and placed them on the street, police were later called.
“Other houses were still raided by Orange Grove residents. The furniture was taken out and left on the streets. This was the second raid to be done this month. We are targeting houses owned by Johannesburg Property Company, because they have been overtaken by foreign nationals,” he said.
The residents are supported by Alexandra residents called Dudula. This group has been evicting people of foreign origin in RDP houses in Alexandra. However, there were no dead bodies found at the house.
