Three taxi owners gunned down in the north of Tshwane

Police in Pretoria have launched a manhunt for suspects who shot and killed taxi bosses on last week. The three taxi owners were gunned down on Corner of Bushveld and August Roads in Mabopane, north of the capital city.

Police spokesperson captain Mavela Masondo told Gauteng Newspaper that the diseased were declared dead on the scene.

“Police received a call about a shooting incident. On arrival police found three men lying on the ground with gunshot wounds. The victims were later certified dead by the paramedics, said Masondo.

Masondo said that a preliminary investigation suggested that the victims were shot while having a discussion. 

“We suspect that this shooting is related to the ongoing taxi violence in the area. Three cases of murder have been opened for further investigation,” said Masondo.

No arrests have been made yet. However, the Police have appealed to the community members to come forward with any information that might assist in the investigation. The captain further said that anyone with information can call the nearest police station or call crime stop on 08600-10111.
