On Monday, 01 September 2021 Tshwane mayor was invited by activist Yusuf Abramjee to conduct an oversight visit of the Zwartkops Raceway drive-throughCovid-19 vaccination site on the R55 in Centurion.

Mayor Randall Williams says during the visit he was also joined by the executives from Vodacom and local business owners as the site is a partnership between the Provincial Department of Health and the private sector.

“This site is also run entirely by volunteers and forms part of the city’s 43 public vaccination sites,” Williams says.

He evoked people that the site reached 5 000 vaccinations in ten just days, today the site reached another milestone as it is celebrated administering its 10 000th vaccine shot.

“I was also encouraged to note that the person who received this key milestone vaccination was a 98-year-old resident, who took the time to vaccinate to protect herself, family and community,” adds Williams.

Williams encouraged all Tshwane residents aged 18 years and older to vaccinate. He said, “If a 98-year-old resident can do it as I witnessed today, surely many of you can do the same.”
