VOSLOORUS SCHOOLS RECIEVES FREE SANITARY PADS.

Rand Water, in partnership with law enforcement agencies from Vosloorus SAPS Youth Desk and Community Policing Forum (CPF) worked together and donated sanitary towels to various schools at Vosloorus.

The condition where a girl child is forced to be absent from school for days due to the unavailability of sanitary towels happens to many women in South Africa. Rand water decided to do something about that by donating some sanitary pads.

“Our goal is making sure that each of them can have their own effective feminine solutions. For these girls it is too expensive for them to buy disposable products, or they may not even be available at all. This problem affects young girls in schools.”

There are thousands of women in need of these basic items that we consider necessity. The goal is for every girl in South Africa to have access to safe and hygienic sanitary products. Our goal is to help girls reclaim the dignity that poverty denies them and enable girls to make a lasting and positive impact on the communities they live in and society as a whole ,As this is just the beginning but not the end.’’

Learners from Masithwalisane Secondary School in Extension 25, Vosloorus were excited to receive sanitary towels.

Also, excited were learners and teachers from Vosloorus Junior Secondary

The pad drive aims to keep girls at school during their menstruation time as some of them often miss school because they cannot afford sanitary pads.
