A foetus discovered by Pikitup employees in Alexandra

Alexandra police are investigating the discovery of a foetus found on Thursday morning at a dumping site in Alexandra Ext. 8, and have appealed to the public for information.

The foetus was discovered when Pikitup waste management employees were working at the site. Police went to the scene to conduct their preliminary investigation. 

A local community news reporter Cliff Shiko, has confirmed that the foetus was certified dead on the scene. 

“A handful of concerned neighbours have gathered at a crime scene for yet another discovery of a foetus. Paramedics have certified the foetus dead on the scene. The Johannesburg pathology services have taken the foetus for safe disposal and no arrest has been made yet.”

Police have appealed to the community that anyone with information that can  help with the investigation to contact police 10111 or crime stop on 08600 10111.
