Anti-apartheid Struggle Stalwart and GDoH Calls People to Be Vaccinated

The Gauteng Department of Health is joined by the Anti-apartheid struggle stalwart, Sophie Williams De Bruyn in calling people that are over 60 years to get vaccinated.

De Bruyn got her second dose of the Pfizer vaccine at Alexander Community Health Centre and she says there is now no reason why people cannot get the jab. With those words, she was making a special appeal to people who are 60 years and above to go get vaccinated.

Sophie went in after everyone for her jab because she was encouraging everyone to conquer their fears and continue with getting vaccinated.

De Bruyn said, “I Have just completed getting my second inoculation and I am feeling good.” she added that she wants to encourage everyone who is about to get vaccinated to do so. She also reminded everyone to continue to respect the COVID-19 protocols.

As De Bruyn is helping the Gauteng Department of Health, the Department urges people to go get vaccinated even if they are not registered. In the Gauteng province, vaccination sites have been added to make everything easier and a lot faster for the vaccination programme.

“Government continues to appeal to communities to keep adhering to non-pharmaceutical interventions, wearing a mask, keeping a safe physical distance and washing hands regularly or using a hand sanitiser,” the MEC spokesperson, Kwara Kekana says.
