Artists cancel their performances in South Africa

Following the xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals in South Africa some artists have canceled their performances in the country.

Jidenna, who is an American musician but originates from Nigeria, canceled her gig scheduled for late September in South Africa.

“This apartheid trauma is rampant, cancerous and volatile. Violence and unrest in South Africa are direct results of damage apartheid has done”, said Jidenna.

Another Nigerian superstar Tiwa Savage also canceled her performance for the upcoming DSTv Delicious Festival that has been scheduled for 21 September 2019.

“I refuse to watch the butchering of my people in South Africa. For this reason I will not be performing at the upcoming DSTv Delicious Festival in Johannesburg on the 21 September 2019”, said Savage.
