The city of Tshwane multidisciplinary Anti-land Invasion task team yet again proved their worth and demolished 84 structures that were erected illegally in Nellmapius, Kudube, Soshanguve, Mabopane and Gomorah.
In the previous week, the teams received a tip-off from the community members and local councillors that there were people invading the land in Nellmapius ext. 2 and Kudube. The Executive Mayor Randall Williams says,“The city verified the information and sent our teams to demolish the illegal structures in both locations.”

According to Williams, more tip-offs came through from Soshanguve and Mabopane and the task teams went there to destroy those structures which gave them 30 structures demolished in the city. Furthermore, “today our task teams demolished 54 illegal structures in Gomorah, west of Pretoria, taking the total of 84structures destroyed in the city,” added Williams.
As he thanked the community members and the local councillors he said, “The city is committed to protecting property rights and will maintain a zero-tolerance approach to land invasions in Tshwane.”
He also warned those who encourage land invasion or promote shack farming in the city. Williams stated that those who erect shacks with intentions of selling or renting will also be prosecuted.
