The City of Tshwane has deployed the disaster management bus to serve as a mobile vaccination site for educators.
Tshwane Mayor, Randall Williams, says the bus has been inspected and approved for quality by their team before it was activated as a mobile vaccination site.
“The bus is compliant with all necessary requirements, including having air conditioning, fridges, oxygen supply on-board as well as a wheelchair lift to ensure accessibility for the disabled,” says Williams.
Currently the bus is stationed at Liana Hof Teachers centre in Sunnyside.
Williams says the site was identified by Gauteng Departmentof Education as acceptable and accessible for teachers in the City.
“If the need arises, the mobile vaccination unit can be moved to another site,” Williams Says.
The mobile vaccination bus started its work last week during the launch of the educator’s vaccine programme.
Williams says this week he intend on visiting the mobile vaccination bus to give support to their teams and educators that will be receiving their vaccinations.
