Colour-Fun-walk set to raise funds for over 200 orphans

The Clean Up Squad and Donald Isaac Maluleke Charity Organization, (DIMCO), are set to host the 10km Color Fun walk. The walk aimed to raise funds for a Christmas party for over 200 kids from eight orphanage homes and to honour the founder of DIMCO.

The walk will take place at Giant Stadium, Soshanguve on Saturday, 12 December 2020.

These two organisations will also take the opportunity to honour the founder of DIMCO, Donald Maluleke who passed on earlier this year in February. RediCure Emergency Services and Spur Tampico will be in attendants to support these organisations.

DIMCO roped in the Clean Up squad to help raise funds for its annual charity Christmas party for the orphanage homes on Sunday, 13 December. Scores of children are set to get clothes, and school uniform and toys from the drive.

The DIMCO member Mthokozisi Mtshali, told Gauteng News that they are impressed to commemorate Maluleke and to raise funds for the orphans.

“Donny was well loved and respected in the community for his continuous efforts to try changing the lives of the less fortunate in our community. The walk is dedicated to him and an open invitation to the rest of the city, to contribute in making Christmas special for the little ones,” said Mtshali.

The Cofounder of Clean Up Squad, Mr Reggie Mashiane said the walk day will be filled with a lot of activities for young and old people.

“As an organization, we felt compelled to be part of this walk because Maluleke shinned a light for us in our journey to help our community as an NPO. We want this walk to be a lasting legacy and for other kids to continue to benefit in the memory of his name,”

“We also want to encourage people to drink water during the festive season to promote healthy living.” said Mashiane.

Mashiane added that they joined DIMCO to honour Maluleke, highlight alcohol abuse during the Festivities and to promote water drinking.

“The Color Fun walk, is not only set to benefit children from the homes, but recovering drug users who completed their treatment will be given jobs on the day, to clean after participants.”

“Tickets are priced at R100, DIMCO and Clean Up have encouraged the masses even non-participants donate to homes on Standard Bank, 10125834819, REF Name and Surname or call 084 984 9045 for more information.” he added.
