Metro FM radio presenter Dineo Ranaka allegedly received a letter brought by two police officers, from Small court claims at the radio during her show on Wednesday.

Ranaka’s former manager Palesa Molemela seeked intervention from small claims court to be paid her amount of more than R22 000, the TV star owes her.

According to Sowetan, Molemela served Ranaka with a letter of demand from her lawyer in September last year, to no avail. It is alleged that Ranaka owes Molemela R22 000 for service rendered between October 2017 and August 2018 as a booking manager and administrator.

Molemela was forced to state a lesser amount in order to pursue the case at small claims court, as the amount exceeds R20 000. Molemela was escorted by police and accompanied by her two kids to hand Ranaka the letter. Arriving at SABC, only police were granted entry to meet with Ranaka, who refused to sign the letter.

“Ranaka was still on air and police waited for her. When they came out, I was told that she refused to sign. Ranaka said I have already sent a letter of demand through my attorney and she will communicate through her lawyer. She told police that I know everything about her, her home address, ID number and there was no need to come to work. Police wrote ‘Refused to sign’ and stamped the letter demand. I have to go to court and update them”, said Molemela.
