Johannesburg Park Station looted and vandalised

Unknown looters vandalised the Johannesburg Park Station on Tuesday while commuters and shops were harassed and vandalised by these looters. The unknown looters allegedly came in forcefully and started attacking inside the Park station but law enforcement were able to come in time to control the situation. The unknown suspects managed to escape and have not been arrested.

Gauteng News attempted to get hold of the communications department of Prasa but were unable to reach them for comment. Security guards who were stationed inside the Park Station saw the looters vandalising ticket windows, some of the shops, and broke the glass access gates and cars.

The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) confirmed that order had been temporarily restored, however, Prasa is currently yet to identify the looters and the motive behind the attacks.
