Care-net Development and Support Organisation to hold Annual General Meeting (AGM) to give evident of transparency to their stakeholders. The AGM will be held in Mabopane, North of Pretoria next week on Saturday. This gathering aim to showcase significant decisions about the functioning of this organisation and steps to protect the interest of all their stakeholders.
From its inception this organisation was established to work with vulnerable children, families, orphans and youth in 2007. The director of Care-Net, Mmatsatsi Makgohloa told Gauteng news that this is a yearly meeting which is required by the law.
“This event is an annual general meeting where NPO are compelled to have every year to achieve compliance with the ÑPO ACT 71of 1997. We inform the government, community and the donors about the business of the year. That is done to encourage transparency of our organisation,” says Mmatsatsi.
She added that they are going to delve on discussions of any matter relating to the conduct of the affairs of their organisation.
“We want the public to know about the type of services we render. We inform them about the income and expenditure for the financial year 2019-2020. As local NPO we are ready to answer public questions on the type of services rendered and give the public a chance to express new needs if any,” she added.
She further said that amid the get-together their organisation will be making important decisions regarding the organisation, and informing the members of previous and future activities.
“During the meeting we are going to choose new or officially keep the old board members to govern the NPO. We will appoint a new or keep an Auditing company to audit their finances,” She said.
