As part of the department’s Reclaiming the Night initiative, the MEC went to Diepkloof, Soweto to engage with elderly people about the challenges and violence they face in the community.

Elderly women attended the session to engage with Mazibuko hoping to find solutions from the department and the South African Police Services in regards to sexual assault and rape. Police officers from Diepkloof Police Station elaborated that the SAPS is working very hard to fight crime but help from the community would make a difference.
