Meet the new Mrs Africa Worldwide 2020

The beautiful and courageous Naomi Molemo is the newly crowned Mrs Africa Worldwide who was also awarded the Most Determined Model and Mrs Body Beautiful in October. The beauty pageant included women from different African counties Zimbabwe, Angola, Zambia and Nigeria to name a few.

Born and raised in Kagiso West Rand, Molemo was inspired by the challenges she faced as a young womanand being raped during her upbringing. Naomi thrives on using platforms like this to tackle issues like rape and gender based violence.

“Our problem in a nation is the mind-set, firstly we need to change how we tackle this issue. We are reactive to issues we have and we are not pro-actively dealing with this issue and finding solutions, we only want to take action once we see a dead body circulating on social media about a woman that was raped and killed or someone killed by their partner,” said Mrs Africa Worldwide 2020.

The newly crowned beauty queen prides herself as the voice of the voiceless and serves her community and the people of Africa. “When I joined the pageant, I never dreamed that I would be travelling the world. I joined the pageant to work on myself confidence and I needed to see how far I can push myself. I needed a bigger platform to reach out to more people and expand the vision I have,” added Naomi.

People of Kagiso are very proud to be represented throughout the continent and globally by Naomi and she has plans for her community, as she will be advocating tuberculosis and gender based violence in the township. Naomi raised an important element that might be a solution for the GBV which is investing in the boy child, and giving the boy child the attention they deserve. “I am now more determined and look forward to representing my continent next year at Mrs Worldwide. It will be hard work and it will need me to put in more work, but I am willing to leave no stone unturned to ensure that I claim victory for my continent,” concluded Molemo.
