MISA Returns to Court Over Motus Labour Dispute

The Motor Industry Staff Association (MISA) has returned to court against Motus Group, representing nearly 100 workers who claim they were forced to accept changes to their employment conditions or face retrenchment without severance pay.

The dispute follows a restructuring process that began last year, which saw dozens of employees retrenched and hundreds more affected by changes to salaries and benefits, including the removal of allowances and incentives

MISA argues that workers were pressured to sign revised employment agreements under duress and that proper labour procedures were not followed. The union is asking the court to cancel the signed acceptance letters and order compensation for affected employees

Motus has not yet responded to the court application. Gauteng News will continue monitoring developments in the matter.
