Mobile vaccination drive to be launched in Gauteng this week

To make sure that the vaccination programme become faster, the Gauteng Provincial Government and civil society partners will launch the COVID-19 mobile vaccination drive in Ekurhuleni, Tshwane and Johannesburg this week.

This will make things simpler for the 50 plus group to get vaccinated near their homes or place of work.

The spokesperson for the Gauteng Provincial Government, Thabo Masebe says that this mobile vaccination drive will be helping mobile clinics and vaccination sites.

“Transport will be provided for those in need,” Masebesays.

He also noted that there are pick-up points for those who will need transport to get to their vaccination site. This is an opportunity for people to register and get vaccinated in huge numbers.

He motivated people to get vaccinated because the vaccine is highly effective in preventing severe diseases, hospitalisation and death.

He said, “The Gauteng government would like to remind residents that each vaccination brings us closer to a better future and to the things we miss.”

Masebe also said that they call all Gauteng residents to get vaccinated when their turn comes.
