Starting from the 5th of June, the city of Tshwane will be vaccinating people who are 50-59. This age group is allowed to go to their nearest vaccination sites to get their jabs.
The MMC for Health, Sakkie du Plooy says to keep the vaccination programme moving efficiently, the welcomed group should bring their IDs, proof off registration and medical aid details if they have one.
“Residents who experience challenges with registrationscan approach our health officials who always stand ready to assist,” said du Plooy.
Du Plooy also pointed out that it is not important where one gets their jabs. “The group that has medical aid, they are more than welcome to approach private institutions to arrange for their jabs.”
He emphasized, “what matters is getting the vaccine so we can reach herd immunity and protect ourselves, family and friends as well as the rest of the people of Tshwane.”
The current third wave continues to rage faster with increased infections. The stats confirms that the numbers of infections are higher than the first and second wave.
He reminded all people that it is now more important than ever to diligently adhere to safety protocols. “People who can effectively work from home are encouraged to do so,” he says.
