Namibia Crumbles Against Boks

Saturday saw the springboks facing off with Namibia at the Rugby World Cup in Japan. The Boks had suffered a 23-13 defeat against New Zealand, the previous week, and redemption was definitely one of the things on their agenda.

They got off to a good start and dominated the first half before leaving the field for half-time with the score being 31-3 in South Africa’s favour.

Winger Makazole Mapimpi and hooker Bongi Mbonambi did a sterling job by contributing 2 tries each out of the five that were scored in the first half. The Namibians’ efforts seemed fruitless against the boks’ aggression and determination.

The second half saw South Africa obliterating Namibia with 4 more tries and ending the match with a final score of 57-3. The Sprinboks’ defeat to the All blacks, in their pool C opener, proved to be a wake-up call judging from their explosive performance this past weekend.

South Africa will be going up against Italy this coming Friday for the quarter-finals qualifier.
