President Cyril Ramaphsa is expected to officiate the opening of the Corobrik Kwastina brick manufacturing factory at Driefontein in Gauteng this afternoon. #InvestSA

The president says the factory is part of the investment journey started four years ago which is the SA Investment Conference. #InvestSA

President Ramaphosa: “Here today at Kwastina, we are seeing the fulfillment of the investment commitment that was made at the conference. We are seeing the results of the R800 million investment pledge”. #InvestSA

The President says the investment is an example of the “productive partnership” forged between government and business to grow the economy. #InvestSA

President Ramaphosa: “The manufacturing sector is one of the priority industries in our economy and plays a vital role in the creation of employment. The construction of Kwastina I’m told created temporary employment for some 1000 people”. #InvestSA

President Ramaphosa: “We are an economy that was devastated by COVID-19…we still lost 2 million job. For an economy like ours…to lose 2 million jobs in just a twelve month period is quite a devastation.” #InvestSA
