Taxi driver arrested for attempted murder

A 41-year-old taxi driver was arrested for attempted murder, reckless and negligent driving on Sunday at Bree Taxi rank. 
The suspect allegedly bumped a silver Grey Golf 5 that belongs to a 46-year-old male, along Jeppe Street.


“The victim followed the taxi driver until he entered the taxi rank. When the victim confronted the suspect the latter then swore at him and pulled out a gun before letting firing 2 shots”, explains SAPS captain Xoli Mbele

The victim managed to run for his life and went straight to the police station. Police acted swiftly and the suspect was arrested immediately.


The investigation is currently underway and the taxi driver will be appearing at the Johannesburg Magistrates Court soon.
