This past weekend was filled with a whole lot of violence even in the midst of a Soweto derby.
SAPS in conjunction with the JMPD arrested a 28-year-old male suspect for murder, three attempted murders, possession of an unlicensed and ammunition at corner Noord and End Streets.
Captain Xoli Mbele elaborated on the matter, “There were 5 suspects who were in possession of 2 firearms. They shot a 24-year-old male victim several times in the lower and upper body at corner Plein and Twist Streets at 15:30.”
Paramedics certified the victim dead on the scene. Three bystanders were hit by stray bullets during the shooting and were later taken to hospital.
The motive for the shooting is still unknown at this point. Gauteng News will have more on the story as it unfolds.
