Two nabbed following a CIT robbery at fidelity offices

A group of unknown heavily armed men wearing Fidelity uniform and balaclavas allegedly tied security guards to gain entry in the premises in Hercules, Pretoria on Friday.

A joint operation by Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation in Johannesburg, National CIT Task Team, Technical Operations Management, Crime Intelligence, and Traffic Saturated Unit resulted to the arrest of two men on business robbery allegations at Fidelity offices.

The duo aged 45 and 49 were arrested on Monday morning in Protea Glen and Braamfischer respectively. Police recovered undisclosed amount of money.

It is alleged that the suspects grinded doors in the premises leading to the offices to gain entry into the volt.

Security personnel in the offices were allegedly held hostage when suspects made off with unknown amount of cash and fled the scene in getaway vehicles.

Suspects are expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Investigation continues and outstanding suspects pursued.
