A security officer and a shopper have been wounded in a armed robbery that took place at Menlyn Shopping Centre in Pretoria on Sunday, 24 October 2021.
The police in Brooklyn are investigating a case robbery and attempted murder after two people were shot and injured following a jewellery store robbery in Menlyn.
Police spokesperson Dimakatso Sello says the victims are both recovering in hospital.
“It is alleged that three suspects, two men and a woman, entered the store and demanded jewellery at gunpoint. One of the employees managed to press the panic button and the suspects made away with only the jewellery that was on display,” said Sello
“On their way out they noticed a security officer and started shooting at him. One shopper was caught in the crossfire and sustained a gunshot wound. Both victims are in hospital for medical treatment.”
