A gardener arrested on murder of veteran teacher

According to Boksburg Advertiser, a 25 year-old gardener was arrested in connection with the murder of 66 years old veteran teacher Linda Breytenbach, for Laerskool Goudrand Afrikaans teacher, in Boksburg.

Boksburg North South African Police Services (SAPS) spokesperson Constable Justice Ramaube said the gardener worked at the teacher’s house usually.

“According to allegations, the suspect tied the victim’s feet and hands before suffocating her with black refuse plastic. He then stole plasma television and a cellphone. The body of a victim was found lying after neighbors suspected that there was something wrong, when they saw a suspect leaving the house with a black plastic bag with something inside”, he said.

Ramaube said the suspect did not realises that there was CCTV camera catching him when leaving the scene, after committing the murder.

“A plasma television was found under the mattress of a suspect, after further investigations were done. The suspect was arrested and brought to the Boksburg North police station”, said Ramaube.
