Bogus dentist behind bars for impersonation

A 43-year-old male was arrested at his surgery on Wednesday afternoon on Corner Jeppe and Simmonds Streets following a Crime Intelligence Operation.

The bogus doctor had just finished doing a tooth procedure on a female patient when the police pounced on him.

The cops were accompanied by members of the Department of Health who then asked the dentist to show his practice number to prove that he is qualified doctor.

The suspect was unable to produce one and was escorted in handcuffs by the police. He’ll be appearing at the Johannesburg Magistrate Court on Monday, 20 January as the investigation is currently underway.
