Brothers in possession of stolen motorcycles nabbed

The city of gold is never short of bizarre crimes that might leave you in awe or utter disbelief and shock. What are the odds of finding motorbikes in an apartment complex indoors? This was the bizarre discovery that cops encountered when they looked into a tip-off and investigated further.

Captain Xoli Mbele of the SAPS confirmed with Gauteng News that two suspects, aged 28 and 39, were arrested at a flat on corner Pritchard and Goud Streets on Monday, 24 February at 4pm for being in possession of stolen motorcycles.

“Police received a tip-off about stolen motorcycles hidden in the suspects’ flat. They followed the lead and found a male in one of the bedrooms and also discovered the three concealed motorcycles. Two of them were positively reported stolen at Brixton Police Station in January 2020”, explains Mbele.

The suspect then led the police to his brother at corner Small and President Streets where he was also apprehended. Both suspects will be appearing at the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
