Christian movement in terrorism allegations

The Christian religion has never been associated with terrorism until recently when leader Johannes Knoesen was arrested by the Hawks on terrorism charges. Knoesen was arrested in Middelburg, Mpumalanga after the Hawks’ Crimes Against The State (CATS) team raided his home and discovered an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, chemicals, documents and electronic devices.

It is alleged that the group was planning on targeting national key points as well as shopping malls and informal settlements on Black Friday. Knoesen is believed to be a self-confessed racist who encouraged white members of his church to forcefully take action against black people. ]

Another member Riana Heymans was arrested by the Hawks after being suspected of evading arrest following the apprehension of Knoesen.

This is still a developing story.
