The people of Diepkloof have been warned about the robbery and theft tendencies that have been taking place at the shopping center. Jabulani Sibiya manager of the square, warned that nine incidents recently took place and customers who were conned brought the complaints forward.
According to Jabulani CCTV footage showed people easily falling into the con artist’s trap. He warned that these con artists wore formal clothes pretending to be working for a certain organisation before robbing victims of their belongings. These men frequently rob customers at the end of the month, however, no case has been opened by the robbed customer or the square manager.
Furthermore, customers are urged to be cautious as there is another case of a woman who was misled by people who claimed to have worked at Food Lover’s Market, and robbed her of her handbag and belongings.
“People should be more responsible and stop allowing strangers to randomly offer them help around ATMs,” said Sibiya.
