Nkoemalae Mola (42) of Mola Attorneys who is alleged that since 2019 he defrauded potential house buyers of an amount of over two million has been granted bail of R10 000.
“After several cases were opened, Mola was arrested in his house in Burgersfort on 06 July 2021,” said the NPA Regional Spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana.
Mahanjana says Mola pretended to be a lawyer handling the sale of a property. he also added it is alleged that he would ask any potential buyer to deposit a certain amount into Mola Attorneys bank account then later send it to his personal account.
The spokesperson says the prosecutor opposed the bail, stating that Mola can commit similar offence and the complainants will be intimidated.
“However, the court granted bail with bail conditions that Mola was to hand over his passport to the investigation officer, he should not travel outside the country and should not have aby direct or indirect contact with the complainants or the witnesses relating to this matter,” says Mahanjana.
He added that while the case is under investigation, both parties have until the 27th of October 2021 to present their findings on all the matters Mola was arrested for.
